About

Dopee Francisco began in the early nineties as Blue Balls Blues; a quintet of jokers with an artistic bent who were looking for an outlet finding it in learning to play popular music. The quintet became quartet early on and took to abandoning the strict confines of popular music due to their exposure to the music of John Zorn, John Coltrane, Sun Ra, and Frank Zappa among others. The groups' collective A.D.D. found them taking influences from film and film soundtracks such as the sound design of David Lynch. The quartet expanded to a collective of musicians and recorded several albums with varying members.
